Diversity and Inclusion Grants
At KR 2026, we are committed to fostering an inclusive community with opportunities for all participants without regard to age, religion, race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, or disability.
Following the KR Inc. D&I policy, there will be funding available to provide grants to attend KR 2026. These grants may come with a registration fee waiver and/or partial funding for travel costs. Those who lack the means to pay for registration or who cannot afford to travel to attend the conference may apply for financial support by submitting an application to the D&I grants until the 8th of May, 2026. The budget is modest, so we encourage applicants to seek additional funding.
The grants are aimed at attendees (Postdocs, PhD students, researchers, academics) from underrepresented groups and countries in KR. We are planning on selecting applicants based on wide diversity and inclusion criteria. Notice that applications will be evaluated based only on the submitted materials and provided justifications. Privacy will be respected and preference will be given to first-time attendees and applicants who do not have other means of support.
Please note that people who apply for a grant should wait for the notification on the 7th of May, 2026, before registering at the main conference.
How to apply:
Your application for the travel grant should be sent to diversity-and-inclusion-kr26@inria.fr and include the following:
- A short academic CV (including a list of the strongest publications or contributions, max 3 pages),
-
A short cover letter (max 1/2 page) discussing:
- How your background and experiences relate to diversity and inclusion in the KR community, including any challenges you have faced in accessing opportunities or participating in academic settings.
-
A document detailing:
- Title and Paper ID of the accepted paper (in any track, including the Doctoral Consortium) if the applicant has one. Otherwise, motivation for attending the conference.
- How many years of experience do you have in academia? How many times have you attended a KR conference?
- A short budget break-down for the trip (estimated expenses for flight tickets, lodging, other accommodations, etc.).
- Do you have any funding sources to attend the conference? If so, specify the amount and source.
- Would you be able to attend the conference without the D&I grant?
- Have you applied for alternative grants? If so, which and when will you know about the outcome?
- Would the combination of existing funding and the D&I grant be enough to support your attendance at the conference?
