The conference KR 2006 will take place in the Low Wood Hotel
Travel
Manchester has a large international airport with direct flights to many European and North American cities, including Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, New York, and Washington.
For rail travel, there is a station at the airport and some direct trains from there to Oxenholme Station (the nearest station to the conference site). At Oxenholme Station are regular shuttle trains or taxis to Windermere Station which is a 10 minute trip (less than 5 miles) by taxi to Low Wood Hotel.
For driving, all the major car rental companies are at the airport. It is approximately 90 miles from there to Windermere and the journey should take less than 2 hours.

- do not register using the Hotel web page
- use this booking form Pdf or Doc which can be either emailed to the Low Wood Hotel Sales lwsales@elhmail.co.uk or faxed on +44(0)15394 39475
- alternatively, you can contact the Sales Office directly on either of the following numbers: +44(0)15394 39440/39476/39469
- clearly identify yourself as being with the "KR Conference"
- do not take no for an answer, the hotel is "fully booked" for use by KR participants, however we have not yet filled all the rooms. If they give you a hard time, ask to speak to someone in "SALES".
The Langdale Chase Hotel is very close by. There are also numerous hotels and guest houses in Ambleside, which is about one mile away.
