A number of research-intensive Lecturer and Research Fellow positions
are available in the ANU Planning and Optimisation Research Group, to
conduct research in Automated Planning and Scheduling and related areas
of Artificial Intelligence and Optimisation.  Salaries are
internationally competitive (around 100K AUD/year + 17% superannuation),
the ANU is ranked in the world's top 20
<https://www.topuniversities.com/university-rankings/world-university-rankings/2018>

  * On-line, dynamic  planning and scheduling
  * Combining AI, OR, and ML approaches to planning and scheduling
  * Hybrid (discrete/continuous) planning and scheduling
  * Integrating verification, diagnosis, and learning with planning
  * Planning and scheduling for autonomous robotics

Successful candidates will conduct independent or project-based research
in those areas. Although their main time contribution will be to
research, they will also be expected to contribute at a reduced

**

We are seeking a research fellow to work on a project on use of planning
in networked system security. The project is a collaboration between the
ANU, CSIRO Data61 and the Australian Defence Science and Technology
Group. Its goal is to develop scalable approaches to planning model
construction and maintenance, as well as algorithmic advances in
planning under uncertainty and partial observability that enable scaling
to networks of practical size.

We are looking for PhD graduates with a track record of research in the
field of AI planning, ideally with an emphasis on:

  * Robust planning under uncertainty and partial observability
  * Large-scale knowledge engineering for planning
  * Experience in network security, pentesting or software system
vulnerability is also desirable but not essential

Duration: 3 years (subject to successful regular project reviews), with
possibility of extension to a maximum of 5 years.
