                       Call for Papers

            Special Issue of Artificial Intelligence (AIJ)
        "Logical Approaches to Artificial Intelligence:
                Papers in Honor of John McCarthy"

We invite contributions to a special issue of Artificial Intelligence
entitled: "Logical Approaches to Artificial Intelligence: Papers in Honor
of John McCarthy." This special issue will consist of research papers
on various aspects of logical AI that are thematically connected
to John McCarthy's research on this topic.

All submissions will be refereed in accordance with AIJ policy and to
AIJ standards.  Papers will be accepted to the special issue based on their
quality and their relevance to the theme of the special issue.  Papers
that are favorably reviewed but that cannot be included in the special
issue will appear in an alternative issue of AIJ.

Manuscripts and supporting documents should be prepared for submission
in accordance with Elsevier Publishing's requirements, as described at:

Authors are also requested to include a short description of the
relationship of the reported research to McCarthy's research and/or how
McCarthy's work influenced the content of the submission.

on or before Monday November 13, 2006.  Please send your full submission
to Leora Morgenstern on or before Monday November 20, 2006.  Do not send
submissions to aij -at- ida.liu.se.

  Monday January 29: Reviews sent to authors
  Monday March 12: Revised, camera-ready copy due to editors
